I can see how a fan of the show may like this, but it should really be a free browser game. In the few hours I played I ran into numerous glitches that made simple platforming sections a pain. The quality of the music is poor and repetitive. The graphics are something that belong on the GBA not the DS. There is no sense of danger due to how plentiful powerups, and life replenishers are within the game as well as savepoints.
I would reckon the game lasts about 6-8 hours total of basic platforming mixed with hack and slash elements. It seems to be more like a port of a free flash game that may I say again would/should be free on Cartoon Network's website. It's a flawed journey, mostly due to the hard-to-use inventory system, but it's definitely an adventure worth taking for anyone interested in an absolutely math journey through Ooo. Children will likely love the fairly easy gameplay and the hilarious story, and adults will appreciate both the witty dialogue and throwbacks to retro gaming. From the entertaining, top-down overworld to the constant interactions with the show’s signature characters, the game was obviously made with a love for the license.
Fans of Adventure Time, will likely be able to overlook these faults and embrace the many things that make Hey Ice King, Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?! fun.
