As part of their fight, Nissa joined the Gatewatch and assisted them when the Eldrazi where lead to Innistrad by Nahiri. Regardless, Nissa returned to Zendikar, where she found the Eldrazi had fully escaped and were causing chaos in her homeworld. This meeting turned Nissa into a slight elf-supremacist for a while, something Wizards has very vaguely tried and failed to retcon out in the years since. Unfortunately, her first planeswalk took her to the plane of Llorwyn, where she encountered the elves there who had managed to assert dominion over the plane. Nissa is an elf from Zendikar, whose Spark ignited as a young child when she first encountered the Eldrazi who had been locked there centuries before.

With such a big hole in their lineup, Nissa Revane became the series' primary green character in his place after her debut in the Xbox 360 game Duels of the Planeswalkers. Although Garruk was the original Green Planeswalker, he never joined the Gatewatch, a league of Planeswalkers dedicated to protecting the multiverse.
